Affordable and compact, the Fishfinder 565 utilizes a dual-beam sonar with a 60-degree wide beam for fish location, as well as a precision 20-degree narrow beam for better bottom and structure definition, and reaches a depth of up to 800 feet. While ideal for small spaces, this fishfinder is big in performance, with real-time sonar that instantly captures the action under your boat at up to 40 times per second, and Sonar Echo Enhancement that reveals the smallest details -- even bait when vertical jigging! All the information you need is displayed on an ultra high-resolution, five-inch LCD screen with 640x320 lines, in 12-level grayscale in your choice of Inverse Grayscale, Whiteline, High Contrast Bottom Black, or Structure ID Bottom Presentation. This fishfinder has a high-speed, micro-dynamic transducer for optimum performance that is reliable up to 70 mph, and even includes water temperature and is speed capable. My husband looked for this particular 'fish finder" at all retail stores locally. It was not available. I went online to AMAZON, and sure enough, there it was! I placed the order, it was here within two business days, and he absolutely loves it! Thanks AMAZON:)

I have owned this unit for two years now and use it in a portable case. It gives amazing detail and is easy to read in bright sunlight. The wide beam is very useful for "prospecting" for fish on big flats.

I am not writing a review for this exact product, but am for a similar one. It failed because of a plastic part that broke. Humminbird will not allow me to purchase a replacement part. The only concession they will make is that if I ship the unit to them they will repair it at approximately 50% of replacement cost. I consider that a bum deal and totally unacceptable. Because of their failure to provide even a minimum level of decent product service I've bought my last Humminbird product.
