Concur with Bruzgo November 30, 2008
Fully concur with Robert Bruzgo's review. A fine album from beginning to end that deserves to always be listened to in its entirety. It gets better and more interesting with every listening. We also found this year that it was perfect for Thanksgiving, a reminder of the farmer's work and the bounties of the land.
This is honest music... March 15, 2006 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Every time I listen to Jay Ungar's Harvest Home, which is often, I am reminded of a simpler time. His music resonates within my innermost being. This is honest music. It helps me appreciate the joyful, robust time of basic timeless values. If hard, loud, electric sounds is what your heart beats for then you probably will want to take a pass on this. But if you enjoy the clean beautiful sounds of an acoustic guitar and the mellow music that only can be produced by a country fiddle then take my advice and get this CD, in fact it would be a safe assumption that if Jay Ungar and Molly Mason (Jay's lovely wife) are involved in the music in any way... buy it

Toris Harvest Home review September 12, 2005 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have enjoyed the cd. My lest favorite is the fist song because the singing takes away from the instrumental.
Wonderful, Soothing, Uplifting August 12, 2002 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
Every cut on this CD is perfect, from start to finish!! I can listen to it over and over, and never tire of it. The cuts range from soothing to uplifting. It has a pure, genuine quality that Unger and Mason translate wonderfully to the listening audience!!
Great CD - well worth the listen January 13, 2002 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I first bought this CD based upon two songs from it I heard on a celtic music show. The Mardi Gras and Aaron Copeland . I was a little skeptical buying a cd titled 'harvest home' - since I do not particularly care for songs about the seasons. However this is quite an impressive CD. The first tracks are individual songs about the harvest. However the most impressive thing about this CD is how it builds to the last 4 tracks on the seasons weaving together the mixture of songs that were in the first part of the CD. I have also bought lover's waltz and while I liked a couple of individual songs on it - This album in total is much better. It is amazing how the first songs can be played or interwoven into other tunes in an impressive fashion. Every song on this CD can stand on it's own merit - what makes this a 5 star CD is how they all play together. This is one of those CD that sounds better each time you play it.
