5 out of 5 stars Desert Island Album   February 11, 2003
Reading the other reviews, it sounds as though we're preaching to the converted. Anyhow, this album stands as one of my all-time faves and would definitely make it into my top 5 to bring along with me onto a desert island (provided that island had a CD player and some power source; hmmm, maybe I'd just bring along a satellite phone instead)

4 out of 5 stars Getting Better   January 14, 2003

Seems every band starts out working their way up the ladder. These guys are definately maturing by the time they released Love. Ian can carry a tune a little better. Billy is more experienced with his axe. Rain and She Sells Sanctuary are the hits but Brother Wolf, Sister Moon lives in it's own respect. Their diversity is evolving and getting better. Being it was released 18 years ago and still survives makes it a classic. I really don't care for their earlier releases but this one is good enough to survive. Electric is still my favorite but wouldn't give this one up for anything.

5 out of 5 stars Something different   January 11, 2003

You can read and hear many things about this album. I'll try for something different. When I ski down a bowl of po-pow (postcard powder for those of you non skiers) in Colorado, this album comes to mind.

5 out of 5 stars Album should have been named "nirvana"   July 20, 2002

it is simply one of the greatest album made, every track is just fantastically produced and played. I first heard of the cult with the SSS song, i had like 5 different versions of the long play on that song alone, but the album's cuts are even better, Nirvana is one of my fav tracks..on a second thought, they are all my favorites...get this album and see why the music nowadays pales in comparison!

5 out of 5 stars Simply Perfect   June 27, 2002

I wish I could find another album that blew me away like this one. Like many, I bought it for Rain and She Sells Sanctuary. It was during a time in the 80's when alternative went pop. I went through the late 70's early 80's listening to alternative and watched corporate music take over.

For one album, it changed everything! NO heavy production, NO mass marketing. It was like finding a ton of gold. From the first time the needle hit the album I was hooked. No cueing up the "best" songs on the album. The whole thing is great. I think it sounds better on vinyl just because of the raw sound that is this album.

As I said I just wish I could find another with the power this album has. (Stone Roses - Second Coming is pretty good but that was 8 years ago)
