Editorial Reviews:

Album Description
On their second full-length, Two Gallants weave urgent back-alley storytelling with no-frills instrumentation that alternately boils with visceral fervor and mourns with plaintive restraint. The youthful duo play a strain of rock that falls somewhere between folk, punk, and old-time blues and the resulting sound is much more than the sum of its parts. Two Gallants draw on Old West images and themes of revenge, redemption, and shifty morality to create wide-swinging moods trafficking in brash ferocity, repentant regret, and freewheelin' Americana. The double LP version includes two bonus tracks from the band's early recordings.

5 out of 5 stars Beautiful   October 24, 2007
Simply one of the most poignant and gripping albums in years. If you have not heard of these guys, buy this CD ASAP. Saw them live twice this year (they travel incessantly), and they were amazing. Now own all of their music and they are brilliant.

5 out of 5 stars Great album for drinkin cold Tecates in the hot sun   July 3, 2007
This CD is just amazing. One of those few genre mixing albums that make it more than the sum of the parts.

5 out of 5 stars The best album I've bought in a long time   December 25, 2006

This album is outstanding. It's rough around the edges, but mixed much better than The Throes. And the coarse sound is what makes it so great.

5 out of 5 stars Sensitive, poetic cowboys... I'm not sure but is that an oxymoron?   August 31, 2006

After a few listens, I would say that Two Gallants are sensitive and poetic cowboys. It may sound like an oxymoron but remember how well Brokeback Mountain did at the box office. But besides that, this record by Two Gallants is excellent in its raw and simplistic power. While other audiophiles might cringe at 'simplistic,' I like to embrace it. This band is a guitar player and a drummer, both very well versed in their respective instruments. Lyrics that cut to the bone float over folky guitar riffs and atypical yet extremely rhthymic drum patterns. Two Gallants has certainly distinguished themselves from the crowd with this record. I highly recommend this record; hear a new spin on alt-country (if one could even identify a root genre from which Two Gallants has sprung).
