Super June 3, 2009 We got this as a gift - I couldn't imagine how infants could be THAT entertained by little things going in a slow circle. Oh, I was so wrong. Our baby has loved this since he was just a few weeks old - he is nearly three months now. He LOVES to watch the little stuffed animals go in a circle while the music is playing and he seems to also enjoy it when the projector is on, especially when it is darker out. We often take the little animals down and let him bat at them, which he also enjoys. And, for the first month of his life he wouldn't sleep without the heart beat on. It clearly helped him to relax and get used to being outside of the womb. I would suggest this for most new parents, and especially for the heartbeat sound if your newborn is having a hard time sleeping. It is also great to entertain him in the morning while I try to get teeth brushed or bedroom straightened up. So nice to have those five or ten minutes while he is mesmerized to get a little bit done. The only slight thing is that the alligator and the whale do not have captivating faces like the bear and lion, so he is much more excited by the bear and lion. All the faces should be high contrast which is what infants prefer. But this is only a minor point. Overall, great!
Nice mobile, glad we have it, but it's not perfect. May 21, 2009 Pros?
I love that the mobile lasts for 15+ minutes. I love the projection (so does baby!). The music is not terribly grating.
Cons?
The remote works inconsistently at best--sometimes it works from the doorway and sometimes I can hold the remote directly in front of the mobile and it still won't work. VERY FRUSTRATING. Maybe by the time we have baby #2 someone will have invented a real remote mobile that can turn on from another room!!
It's impossible to see the volume/projection buttons in a dark room--say, if you only want the music or only want the projection. Of course, I am sure this is a con for most mobiles.
I wish there was an easier way to turn it off once it's on. Unless I am missing something, you have to flip the side switch to off, then switch it back to auto (or whatever it's called) so it will be ready for you the next time. I would like a distinct OFF button on the front.
Great Product! May 2, 2009 We moved our baby girl into her crib at 2 months, and it was also her first night with her projection mobile. She loved it! She's 3.5 months now, and she still talks to her animals every night as she's falling asleep. We always put her to bed while she's still awake, and she falls asleep talking. This is one of the top 5 baby items I wouldn't want to be without!
Baby loves it! April 26, 2009 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My baby loves to look at the toys and the projection. It includes three different sounds to play, including a mother's heartbeat.
Baby would not tolerate the crib without it!
my daughter loves the projection April 16, 2009 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The overall quality is really nice and my daughter loves the projection and the animals. She used this from the time she came home and still she cannot sleep without it. If it shuts off then she automatically cries. The only problem is that it goes through batteries so quickly so always keep plenty in stock and it lags every once in awhile when spinning. I would recommend the product because it is exactly what I wanted in a mobile
