Anita's Best album yet April 4, 2009 After loving "Giving You The Best..." on first listen, I wondered if Anita would ever do a better album. Well friends, Compositions is different and better, I believe it's better crafted, the songwriting is more solid. A song like "Whatever It Takes" takes time to take effect, this whole album took me by suprise."Soul Inspiration" got to me right off the bat, at 1st listen."No One To Blame" & "More Than You Know" are other standouts. This is a Solid album, there's no filler or forgettable songs. Then there's the Jewel in the Crown, "Fairy Tales". Ms. Baker wrote this when she was a teen, and it suits this album perfectly. Compositions has grown in time to be my Favorite, of her releases. It's never left my CD player, after you hear this, you'll understand my sentiment. The lady has outdone herself, until the next time.

My Favorite R&B Album from 1990's July 25, 2008 What can i say that hasnt already been expressed, I love all kinds of music, But Anita Baker just makes me melt inside when I hear her voice. Besides being an outstanding singer and performer she's simply a gorgeous woman. Every once in a while I throw on this cd and I just smile and relax. this is simply a "Classic" for R&B lovers.
Another Great Album From Anita Baker July 10, 2008 Compositions is a great album with a mixture of soul and jazz. This album is one of Anita's greatest work. You've never heard a soulful album like this before. The album is so wonderful and relaxing. My favorite songs are No One To Blame, Love You To the Letter, Talk To Me, Whatever it Takes, and More Than You Know.
Once again, you won't be disappointed by this delightfully soulful album. If I could, I give this album 10 stars.

Compositions is her best CD in my opinion. All of the songs are silky smooth but my favorites are "Soul Inspiration and Fairy Tales." That piano solo at the end is FIRE!
