Animaniacs Never Get Old November 27, 2002 I recently rediscovered the genuis that is Animanicas and i have to say that it never gets old. The songs are witty and clever, the Faboo collection can be listened to for hours on end, and i'll still be singing along, lauging some new joke i found. It's worth every penny.
Narf! The Faboo collection is Faboo!!! August 14, 2001 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I don't have the Faboo collection, but I do have both of the CDs that make the collection. They are great! I listen to the tape of the first CD whenever me and my family travel and when ever we listen to music at dinner, after we eat, I play the variety pack CD. Can you sing Yakko's World? I can! My favorite songs on the CDs are the geography songs, "I'm Mad", "Video Revue", "The Senses", "What are We?", "Be Carefull what You Eat", "The Monkey Song", "Chesse Roll Call", "The Presidents", "The Anvil Song" and " The Big Rap Party". I think Animaniacs is the best cartoon in the world!
Songs too clever for kids -- but they love them anyway June 20, 2000 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
For the longest time, my kids (12, 8 & 5) would rave about the Animaniacs TV show, which I dismissed without watching because I assumed it was in the same league as most of the cartoon drivel currently airing. To my complete surprise, the Animaniacs series is one of those rare productions that appeal to adults and kids alike on completely different levels. Nearly all of the songs are SO far ahead of what you'll ever hear on a cartoon (or in any medium, for that matter) that my wife & I are delighted when the kids ask that we put on the Animaniacs CD's in the car. Each time we'll pick up on a line/rhyme we missed before, marvelling at how inventive, witty, imaginative (and silly) and often educational the songs (which often use classical or semi-classical tunes) are. The only downside is that, unless you're familiar with the series' many characters, some of the references in the songs (e.g. the Wrap Party) will make no sense, even though the rhymes are still funny. And...we've made use of some of the songs in the most unusual ways: Wakko's two note song was used in my son's music class to describe different music styles and elements of composition; the Presidents song and Wakko's America were used in history and geography class, respectively. Unless you have no sense of humor, you'll love this set, supplemented by the separate (and admittedly short) Wakko's Universe CD. Caution to the extremely easily offended: Schnitzelbank has the rhyme "gut" with "butt," which in context is hilarious, but which one out of a hundred parental units might find unsuitable for little tykes.
The best "wake-up" tape for the sleepyheads in our house April 13, 1999 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
You are right, Princeton. This one is a treasure. I especially like to put it on when my kids are dragging in the morning. Funny thing is, it's still playing long after the school bus has pulled off. The lyrics are so clever (I hear something new everytime)and funny. This "totally insaney" recording is a must have for everyone, regardless of age.
Oh, yes, this is the ultimate collection! June 26, 1998 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Whether or not you think cartoons are just for kids, get this. It is the ultimate collection. Though I had never heard of the Faboo! collection, I have all the songs in it from other Animaniacs CDs and I have to say that you'll be missing a LOT if you pass this one up. You'll laugh until you fall off your chair. "All The Words in the English Language", "Video Revue", the geography songs, and "I'm Mad" are special standouts, but every single song on this great collection will have you begging for more - I don't care how old you are!
